Are Today’s BMWs Made with Real Wood Trim?
Yes, I know that the title of our blog is Faux Wood Grain but it certainly does seem that we’re all trying to accomplish the same thing after all. I have been following some posts on http://www.bimmerfest.com/ and even found one where the manufacturing process of the BMW wood trim is detailed but have managed to lose it. In the interim, while researching the types of wood grain trim used in the interior of modern Bimmers I ran into the site for Madera Concepts. For those of you who may not be aware, “madera” is Spanish for wood so I guess these guys are all about the wood. For real.
Here is a picture of a wood trim before the guys at Madera got a hold of it.
And, here is the finished product.
A Large Market for Real Wood Dash Kits?
It doesn’t appear to be so although there are a lot of big names on their list of manufacturers and even some that are within reach of your average consumer. For example, Acura wood trim replacements can be purchased here: http://www.maderaconcepts.com/NewSite/VehiclePages/Acura-Wood-Restoration.html
In addition to real wood replacements they also offer custom trim pieces for an additional charge. Why not contact them today?
